With the following information we would nevertheless like to provide you with an abstract of our processing of your personal data and your rights arising from the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG = Bundesdatenschutzgesetz). The specific data that is processed and how it is used is essentially determined by the requested or agreed services. Therefore, not all parts of this information will be relevant for you.

Collected data

Data is collected when you give us this information, which could be in the course of you contacting us.

Further data is collected by our IT department automatically or when you consent upon entering our website. This would include:

  • your IP address
  • date and time you accessed our website
  • your browser type
  • accessed web page/s
  • data volume
  • status notice in connection with the access
  • your operating system, if allowed by your computer
  • websites from which you reached our website (referral address)

Purpose

We process personal data for technical reasons in accordance with the provisions in Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Generally speaking the data is retained for no more than 90 days within which time may be used to check any possible incidents.

Processsing personal data is carried out when providing services (seminars, workshops etc.). Such data will be collected and processed only if you have volunteered it, e.g. when you start an enquiry.

Relaying data

The collected data will not be relayed without prior consent. It can happen, though, that we do pass your data on to a third party, such as a service centre for order processing, where necessary in order to provide such a service. In such a case we remain responsible and have hired such an external service after careful consideration also of all data protection aspects in accordance with legal requirements.

Asserting rights

You have the right to receive, without cost, information on source, destination and usage of your stored personal data which you can have rectified or erased. If you have consented to your data being processed, you can revoke your consent at any time. Under certain conditions you also have the right to restrict the use of your personal data.

Data retention duration

If no other mention of the duration of data retention has been made, your personal data will remain with us for as long as is required to fulfil its use. If you have a legitimate request to have the data removed and no other legal requirements, such as tax laws or trading regulations governing the time such data must be retained, we can follow that request. Otherwise we can only clear the data after the legal duration has been reached. In such a case the data will no longer be processed.

General information on the legal basis for data processing on this website

If you have consented, we process your personal data in accordance with GPDR and BDSG. You have the right to access your data in accordance with article 15 GDPR, the right to rectification in accordance with article 16 GDPR, right to erasure in accordance with article 17 GDPR, the right to restriction of processing in accordance with article 18 GDPR, the right to object arising from article 21 GDPR and the right to data portability arising from article 20 GDPR. In the case of the right to access and the right to erasure, the restrictions in accordance with section 34 and section 35 of BDSG apply. Furthermore, you have a right to lodge a complaint with a competent data supervisory authority (article 77 GDPR in connection with section 19 BDSG).

Revoking consent

You can withdraw consent for us to process your personal data at any time. Data processed until receipt of the withdrawal request will not be affected.

SSL and TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transfer of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Use of cookies

Our internet pages use so-called “cookies”. These are small text files and do not cause any damage to your terminal device. They are temporarily stored on your end device for the duration of a session (session cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. These cookies are essential for the operation of the website and cannot be replaced. The use of these cookies is therefore legitimate according to Article 6(1)(b) GDPR and does not require prior consent.

Enquiries

If you contact us by e-mail, telephone or fax, your enquiry, including all resulting personal data (name, enquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of processing your request. We do not pass this data on without your consent. If your enquiry is related to the fulfilment of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures, then processing of this data is in accordance with Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. In all other cases, data processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of the enquiries addressed to us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) or upon your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) if this has been requested.

The data you send to us via contact requests will remain with us until you request us to erase it, revoke your consent to retain it or the purpose for retaining the data no longer than necessary (e.g. after we have completed processing your request). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.

Use of the Events Calendar

Should you use the events calendar and register for one or more events, further personal data will be collected. Within the scope of the necessary data, these are

  • Name
  • E-Mail address
  • Postal address

This data is necessary in order to be able to carry out the event with you properly (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). The address is needed to be able to send you details and further material and, if necessary, to issue an invoice. As described above, this data will be stored and used until the event has ended or all necessary follow-up steps have been completed. Legal obligations to retain data may, however, apply.
